Kumano Backpackers Hostel - Tanabe

What a fantastic stay! The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel right at home. The location was perfect, just a stone's throw away from the main sights and a short walk to the convenient store. The kitchen was well-equipped with a wide variety of snacks, coffee, and tea, which was a great perk. The spacious lounge area was a perfect place to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring. I also appreciated the clean and well-maintained bathrooms and the opportunity to take a relaxing bath. it was a delightful experience!

While my stay was mostly enjoyable, there were a couple of minor downsides. The noise from the hallway and kitchen could be a bit distracting at times, as the room windows were not very soundproof.

I recently stayed at Kumano Backpackers for a hiking trip along the Kamano Kodo. The location was perfect, right next to the Hongu Shrine and bus station, making it convenient for traveling along the trail. The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, even providing us with a small bag of food when we arrived late. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed and there was plenty of space in the common area. Plus, the free breakfast, snacks, and plentiful tea and coffee were a nice touch. a warm and welcoming stay!

The staff were really good too ensure my comfort, providing a free breakfast and being helpful in offering information on local transportation and attractions. The location was ideal, being close to the Kumano Kodo route and just a short distance from the grand shrine. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

We felt completely at home in the cozy and well-equipped Japanese-style room, and the shared sitting area and spacious kitchen added to the homely atmosphere. The location was convenient, only a few minutes from Kumano Hongu Taisha, and the owner provided us with helpful maps and suggestions for day trips. our experience at Kumano Backpackers was exceptional, and we highly recommend it.
